Buddha's words 1

Sabbe Sankhara anicca'ti, yada pannaya passati,
atha nibbindati dukkhe, esa maggo visuddhiya.
Sabbe Sankhara dukkha'ti, yada pannaya passati,
atha nibbindati dukkhe, esa maggo visuddhiya.
Sabbe Dhamma anatta'ti, yada pannaya passati,
atha nibbindati dukkhe, esa maggo visuddhiya.

-Theragatha

Impermanent and suffering are all compounded things (conditionings) and all formations have the characteristic of impersonality (egolessness). When one perceives this with insight one ends suffering - this is the path of purification.

Living in the present

They do not lament over the past, they yearn not for what is to come, they maintain themselves in the present,
thus their complexion is serene.
